Solution provides predictive clinical decision support with comprehensive documentation
Vancouver, Washington – Philips announced today that the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 20, the VA Northwest Health Network, will employ the company’s IntelliVue™ Clinical Information Portfolio (ICIP) Critical Care solution for improved management of clinical documentation and workflow in the ICU.
ICIP provides clarity and knowledge and brings information to clinicians in the first ten feet of care while streamlining workflow and providing support for automated regulatory and protocol compliance. VISN 20 includes the states of Alaska, Washington, Oregon, most of the state of Idaho and one county each in Montana and California. Its network is comprised of six medical centers, one independent outpatient clinic, one rehabilitation center, 21 community based outpatient clinics (CBOCs) and one mobile clinic. Other services include seven nursing home care units, two homeless domicillaries and 14 readjustment counseling centers.
VISN 20 facilities involved in the ICIP implementation include:
- Alaska VA Healthcare System – Anchorage, AK
- Boise VA Medical Center – Boise, ID
- Portland VA Medical Center – Portland, OR
- VA Puget Sound Healthcare System – Seattle, WA
- Roseburg VA Medical Center – Roseburg, OR
- White City VA Rehabilitation Center & Clinics (SORCC) – White City, OR
- Spokane VA Medical Center – Spokane, WA
- Walla Walla VA Medical Center – Walla Walla, WA
ICIP Critical Care will assist the VISN 20 hospitals in implementing evidence-based care guidelines which focus on four key care bundles: ventilator associated pneumonia, central line associated bloodstream infection, glucose management and sepsis resuscitation and management. The ICIP Critical Care Patient Summary lets the hospitals’ staff members see multiple parts of a chart on a single screen, offering a current picture of even the sickest patients at a glance.
“We are excited that VISN 20 has chosen our IntelliVue solution to help improve ICU patient outcomes and decrease ICU length of stay for their patients,” explained (Name and title deleted). “ICIP provides tools to help clinicians evaluate patients and plan interventions, while its clinical advisories point out potential problems early—before they have a chance to develop.
ICIP provides clarity and knowledge and brings information to clinicians in the first ten feet of care while streamlining workflow and providing support for automated regulatory and protocol compliance. In addition, the ICIP Critical Care Patient Summary lets critical care staff see multiple parts of a patient’s chart on a single screen, offering a current picture of even the ICU’s sickest patients at a glance.
